Sonbhadra (Uttar Pradesh), Jun 05 (ANI): A woman was branded with a hot iron rod in Uttar Pradesh’s Sonbhadra district on Monday. The harsh treatment was rendered to her under an unfounded superstition of being possessed by another soul. The victim, who is currently undergoing treatment, is said to have suffered 25% burn injuries. Superintendent of police, Sonbhadra, Ram Pratap Singh said, “She suddenly started behaving strangely in a ‘Shiva Katha’ and two women branded her with a hot iron rod. Both have been arrested.”
