Tengnoupal (Manipur), Jul 26 (ANI): A central team comprising of senior officials of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and Surveyor General of India recently visited Manipur to inspect the controversial border pillar 81 near Kwatha Khunou village along Manipur-Myanmar border.This came in the wake of controversy that the pillar had been shifted inside Manipur altering its position. After inspecting the site, Lt General Girish Kumar, Surveyor General of India said, “Based on the records, we have understood that from our side the pillar is in the right place but the villagers are saying as per the historical records and tradition the pillars was suppose to be somewhere else, so we will go through the records and look into the matter”.
