Chemists go on strike in Punjab alleging unwarranted raids

Ludhiana/Amritsar (Punjab), Jul 31 (ANI): Several medical shops remained closed in Punjab after strike was called by chemist associations on Monday. They allege unwarranted raids are being conducted at their shops. “We’re being defamed as if we all sell non-medical drugs. Online pharmacies must be banned. If similar raids continue, we’ll go on indefinite strike”, said a chemist association leader. They demand that they should not be defamed for the drug menace in the state. The shop owners claim that online medicine providers are the main reason behind supply of narcotics.
