Delayed rainfall brings threat for farmers in Varanasi

Varanasi (UP) Jul 18 (ANI): While heavy showers lashing across the central belt of India are being experienced by the locals, farmers of Varanasi are facing delay in rainfall. The farmers of Purvanchal area are unable to grow Kharif crops as the rainfall has been delayed. “We can’t sow until it rains, farmers will continue to die if there’s no rainfall,” a farmer said. Varanasi is witnessing low rainfall which has led to delay in sowing of Kharif crops. The delayed rainfall has created drought like situations for the farmers.
