Hyderabad, Jul 29 (ANI): Bonalu celebration is in full swing in Telangana. It is an annual festival which is celebrated in Hyderabad and Secunderabad and other parts of the state. On Sunday, Telangana Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao’s daughter and Nizamabad MP K Kavitha made a golden ‘bonam’ to Goddess Mahankali at Ujjaini Mahakali Temple in Secunderabad. Carved picture of Goddess Mahankali is studded with nearly 285 diamonds. Devotees thronged the temple since morning to have darshan of Goddess Mahankali. The golden Bonam is carried by the devotees through General Bazaar and reached Ujjaini Mahakali Temple. Bonam weighted 3.8 kg and features the carved pictures of Goddess Mahankali and Manikyalamma. The two-day annual Bonalu festival is celebrated in parts of the state as thanks giving to Goddess Mahankali. The festival began today at the prominent Secunderabad’s Ujjaini Mahakali Temple.
