First batch of Haj pilgrims leaves from Mumbai

Mumbai, Jul 29 (ANI): The first batch of Haj pilgrims left for Mecca and Medina from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport on Sunday. The batch of 160 pilgrims departed around 11 AM in the morning. Minority Affairs Minister, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi flagging off their departure, called this year’s Haj pilgrimage as “historical.” This is for the first time the pilgrims are going on the pilgrimage without subsidy from the Union Government. At least 1,28,702 pilgrims will be going on the pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina this year.
