LJP warns Centre of aggressive Dalit protest if SC/ST bill not restored

New Delhi, Jul 27 (ANI): Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) MP Chirag Paswan on Friday urged the Central government to reintroduce the SC/ST Act as a bill in the Parliament while warning that if this did not happen then the Dalit protest would be more aggressive than the previous one on 2 April. He said, “We wanted centre to bring an ordinance about SC/ST Act. But it couldn’t be done now so we filed a reconsideration petition and till it is pending in court we’ve asked Centre to reintroduce it as a bill in the Parliament on August 7 and restore the previous law, as Dalit protests on August 9 could be more aggressive than April 2 protests.” He added, “We also urged the Centre to bring the bill as it was before 20th March. I have complete faith in the government and the utmost faith in our Prime Minister. He says that from ‘if but to comma full stop’, nothing will be changed in the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. It increases our faith in him.”
