Nalanda Medical College & Hospital’s ICU waterlogged following downpour

Patna (Bihar), Jul 29 (ANI): Incessant rains from past few days in Patna caused water-logging in Nalanda Medical College & Hospital (NMCH). The water filled up to knee-level has lead the machines to stop functioning and as a result patients’ treatment is being handled manually. A relative of a patient in the hospital complained, “Due to water-logging in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Doctors are unwilling to come and the hospital is being looked after by other staff members.” On being asked when the water is expected to be pumped out, Chief Engineer of Public Health Engineering Department, Arvind Kumar said, “The pump is running continuously, and it will continue to run as long as the rain continues to shower. The pumps are running to their limit.” The water logged since last night made fishes to find their way to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
