People evacuated from Yamuna bank complain about food supplies

New Delhi, Jul 31 (ANI): People evacuated from low-lying levels of Yamuna bank complained that food supplies were not provided to them on Tuesday. While the food is being supplied from past three days, people living in tents said they were not provided with breakfast and drinking water today. Women living in tents complained about the lack of bathroom for them to bathe. Contrary to people’s complaints, authorities said that the food and water are being supplied continuously. The water level in the Yamuna river continued to rise and stayed above the danger mark for the fourth day. The water level of Yamuna rose above the danger mark 204.83 metres on July 28, prompting the authorities to evacuate people from low-lying areas and rehabilitate them in safer areas in tents.
