Bijapur (Chhattisgarh), Jul 28 (ANI): Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh has been considered to be a Naxal and Maoist hotbed. But thanks to various government schemes, policies and hard work of the security forces in the region, many Naxals have laid down their guns and returned to the mainstream. They have now understood the damage they have caused to themselves while working with the Naxals and now having closed that chapter of their life, many have joined the mainstream. Among the surrendered Naxals, two recalled how the core members of the Naxals used to impose their ideology on the others. They have understood that the Naxals who pose themselves as protectors of the tribal people are the ones who exploit them. They also mentioned how the radical Left cadres used them. Jeetu also mentioned the false claims and promises of Naxals, and how they exploited the innocence of local tribals. He also mentioned that the Naxals, active in the jungles, tend to destroy roads and burn schools so that locals remain completely alienated from the modern world and join the Naxal movement. Education and development of the Tribal community in social and economical means are the pillars through which a civilized society stands. The surrendered Naxals have understood this and hence many have left the path of violence.
