New Delhi, Jul 31 (ANI): Trinamool Congress party (TCM) leaders on Tuesday staged a protest in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue in Parliament premises over Assam National Register of Citizens (NRC). TMC leader protested after MP Saugata Roy gave an adjournment motion notice in Lok Sabha over NRC Assam draft which was released on Monday. The second and final draft of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) was published on Monday with 2.9 crore names out of the total 3.29 crore applicants in Assam. The names of over 40 lakh applicants did not find a place in the historic document, touted to be proof of Assamese identity. Aam Aadmi Party and Samajwadi Party MPs also staged protests in the Parliament over the issue.
