Srinagar (J&K), Jul 30 (ANI): A martial arts training camp was organised in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar to prepare players ahead of the 2018 Asian Games. The Jakarta Palembang 2018 Asian Games will be held in Jakarta from August 18 to September 02. Around 80 players from over a dozen states were set through the paces of the Pencak Silat martial art form at the camp. The camp, sponsored by the Sports Authority of India, is being held inside an indoor stadium and aims to help the participants improve their skills and become stronger. Authorities have roped in coaches from Indonesia to train the players. Pencak Silat is a full-body Indonesian martial arts form under which the players can fight by striking, grappling, throwing in as well the use of weapons.
