Kathua (J&K), Aug 06 (ANI): The Excise Department seized 1,400 Kg of poppy husk from a truck at Toll Post Lakhanpur in Kathua district of Jammu & Kashmir. The vehicle was coming from Kashmir. Officials of Excise Department and Police foiled a major attempt of smuggling Poppy husks out of the State with a seizure of a huge consignment of poppy husk in a vehicle carrying fresh fruits as goods. A case has been registered under Sections 8 and 15 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS). Further investigation is underway.
