Malda (WB), Aug 31 (ANI): In a shocking incident, a three-year-old child was shot at because his mother had ‘defected’ to Trinamool a day before the panchayat board formation on Thursday in West Bengal’s Malda district. The child was rushed to the hospital where he is undergoing treatment. The incident took place in Malda district where the panchayat board is to be constituted by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). During the violence, the child was hit by a bullet. Victim’s mother Putul Mondal won a seat on the BJP ticket on the board of the Manikchak panchayat, but she later moved to the TMC. Miscreants, allegedly led by Block BJP leader Anil Mandal, attacked Mandal’s home after winning the Manikchak panchayat board. The couple managed to escape, miscreants shot their minor child in the head while he was laying on the bed inside the house. Police have lodged a case and investigating the matter.
