Amritsar (Punjab), Aug 23 (ANI): Ashes of late former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee were immersed in Beas River after the ‘Atal Kalash Yatra’ in Punjab’s Amritsar. Asthi Kalash of late former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee reached Amritsar on Wednesday. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and BJP leader Swait Malik along with other party leaders took out the ‘Atal Kalash Yatra’ and immersed Vajpayee’s ashes in Beas River. An event was organised to commemorate the late leader before his ashes were immersed in the river. Vajpayee’s ashes will be immersed in rivers across the country, with top leaders participating in a ritual that has been dubbed ‘Atal Kalash Yatra’ by the ruling BJP. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah handed over urns wrapped in red cloth containing Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s ashes to state party chiefs at an event organized Tuesday morning.
