BJD MLA performs last rites of woman after villagers skip it fearing ostracisation

Jharsuguda (Odisha), Aug 05 (ANI): Ramesh Patua, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLA from Rengali, came forward to perform last rites of a woman begger. The incident took place in Jharsuguda’s Amnapali Village on August 04 after locals skipped it fearing ostracisation. Ramesh Patua was accompanied by his son and nephew to perform the last rites. The woman, a beggar, lived with her ailing brother-in-law who couldn’t attend the ceremony as he was unwell.
