Udhampur (J&K) Aug 23 (ANI): There has seen a significant rise in fisheries sector with the Blue Revolution Scheme under Department of Fisheries in Jammu and Kashmir. Youth in Udhampur have embraced the scheme and around 400 fish farmers have been benefited. The youth have been facilitated by awareness campaigns and information provided with the help of the government. There is a gradual shift in pisciculture from agriculture in the district. There has been a constant increase in income by practicing pisciculture, said a youth. They hailed government’s efforts. The scheme was restructured last year, aiming increase in fish production and fish productivity.
