Latehar (Jharkhand), Aug 25 (ANI): Naxals, who for years have been perpetrating violence on tribals of Jharkhand, are continuing with their anti-development agenda. They have unleashed barbarism across the tribal regions of the state. The ruins of the Panchayat Bhavan, which was razed to the ground by Naxals, in the Nevari region of Latehar district in Jharkhand a few months back, are a testimony of their destruction spree. Disillusioned with empty promises of Naxals–the self-proclaimed defenders of tribals– the villagers had gotten the Panchayat Bhawan built with government’s assistance. Villagers would assemble here to discuss issues, ranging from personal problems to the development agenda of the village. The building had also become a point for promoting communal harmony among the villagers.However, frustrated over this growing unity among the villagers, Naxals destroyed the building. The absence of a community tract has the left the tribes in distress. Naxals’ sinister ideology fundamentally focuses at keeping the tribals away from development and not allowing them to join the mainstream and in a bid to achieve those satanic ambitions they have unleashed mayhem. Their repeated violence has established the fact that they are least bothered about the welfare of the underdeveloped tribals and their plights. However, the sustained efforts of the government have been able to yield positive results of late and Naxals are finding it nearly impossible to expand their influence, in fact, they are finding it hard sustain with the traction and popularity they have enjoyed for years.
