Delhi will not face water shortage for next 20-25 years: Nitin Gadkari

New Delhi, Aug 28 (ANI): Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari assured that Delhi will not face water shortage at least for the next 20-25 years. The union water minister also said that five of the states which are reeling under water scarcity would be provided water through the Lakhwar Dam Project. Speaking at the event, he said, “The Indian government is spending 90% on this project and the rest 10% will be provided by these six states. Our department has tried to take out a solution for this among these states. I am happy that five of our states which are reeling under water scarcity would be provided water after water will be released in Yamuna through this project.” Nitin Gadkari presided over the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation (MOWR) and Chief Ministers of six states on Lakhwar Dam Project in the national capital on Tuesday.
