Guwahati (Assam), Aug 02 (ANI): Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi on Thursday suggested that it would be better if every state has National Register of Citizens (NRC) prepared and should even update it. He said, “Central government has right to know about the foreigners staying in the state or country. It will be better if every state has NRC prepared, they should not only prepare NRC rather they should update it with every census, this will ensure full proof security in the country.” The draft list, which was released on July 30, left out nearly 40 lakh people in Assam, incorporating names of 2.89 crore people out of 3.29 crore applicants.
