Gram Gyanpeeth in Melghat provides livelihood to villagers

Amravati (Maharashtra), Aug 07 (ANI): Gram Gyanpeeth or seat of rural knowledge in Amravati’s Melghat village in Maharashtra have nine ‘gurukuls’ where students learn art and crafts work like pottery, stitching, making of handicraft of bamboo, stone, metal, leather etc. Later, these skills can be used to earn livelihood. Due to lack of job opportunities in Melghat village, villagers migrate to other cities seeking employment. But these gurukuls have provided them livelihood. These gurukuls are known for the spirited effort at community level to preserve and propagate the Indian way of life and associated philosophy.
