India’s first biofuel-powered plane flies from Dehradun to Delhi

Dehradun (Uttarakhand)/New Delhi, Aug 27 (ANI): India has joined the elite club of countries as SpiceJet’s biofuel-powered plane flew from Dehradun to Delhi on Monday. India has become the first developing nation to use cleaner alternative for a passenger plane. The 72-seater Bombardier Q-400 aircraft is powered by a blended fuel, made partially from renewable resources such as agricultural residues, bio-degradable fractions of industrial and municipal wastes and non-edible oils. It is a way towards reducing dependence on fossil fuels by shifting to renewable form of fuel.
