Idukki (Kerala), Aug 13 (ANI): As many as 39 people have lost their lives in the flood-hit Kerala followed by incessant rains. A torrential rain that struck the southern state of Kerala had triggered a series of landslides and caused heavy floods in Idukki and Wayanad district, leaving a trail of destruction across the state. The continuous rains caused rivers in the region to swell, urging the authorities to open the shutters of as many as 22 dams. People affected in Kerala floods flocked to relief camps in affected regions. The camps are operating round the clock to help the devastated people.
