Kerala floods: Telangana govt sends 30 rice trucks for victims

Hyderabad, Aug 22(ANI): Telangana Finance Minister Etela Rajender and Civil Supplies Commissioner Akun Sabharwal on Wednesday flagged off 30 trucks of rice for victims of flood-hit Kerala state. The 30 trucks are carrying 500 metric tonnes of rice. Telangana government has already announced help of Rs. 25 crores of cash assistance to flood-hit Kerala. State government has already sent relief material to Kerala. Kerala has been facing the worst flooding in a century, which claimed over 350 lives. The state has also suffered a loss of Rs 19,512 crore due to the deluge. Various people and organisations across the world have come forward to help the rain-battered state in its hour of need. Thousands of personnel of Indian Navy, Air Force, Army, NDRF and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) are engaged in the rescue and relief operations.
