Kerala floods: Thanksgiving ceremony held for armed forces for conducting rescue operations

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Aug 26 (ANI): Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan thanked the armed forces in a thanksgiving ceremony held in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram for successfully conducting the rescue operations in flood-hit Kerala. In a century’s worst flood in Kerala, out of a total population of about 3.48 crore, more than 54 lakh or one sixth of the population of Kerala, had been directly affected by the floods. The death toll is currently above 400, and over 10,00,000 people are packed into relief camps.
