Monuments across India light up for Independence Day celebrations

New Delhi/ Mumbai, Aug 15 (ANI): Several monuments and government buildings, in parts of the country were beautifully illuminated, including the Parliament House, Air Force headquarters building, and the nearby government offices were brightly lit by chains of hundreds of bulbs placed across their official buildings on the eve of the 72nd Independence Day celebrations. In Mumbai, the iconic and the busiest Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) railway station was brightly lit in saffron, white and green colours. Locals in the region were awestruck to see the terminus beautifully decorated. India achieved its Independence on August 15, 1947, ending more than 200 years of British rule.
