Latehar (Jharkhand), Aug 18 (ANI): Buddha Pahad, predominantly a tribal region in Latehar district of Jharkhand, is severely underdeveloped thanks to the Naxals who have obstructed any form of development in the region. The road which could have rendered prosperity to the village was never completed because of Naxal mayhem. Such fear is prevailing in the region that no contractor wants to take up the responsibility of the road as they are subjected to Naxal atrocity. Earlier, the contractors were beaten and sometimes hacked to death if they failed to pay the ‘Rangdari’ tax, a tax collected forcefully by Naxals at the pretext of providing security. Naxals proclaim to be the defenders of tribal rights but in reality they are the real trouble creators. The agenda of these left radicals is essentially to keep the tribals marginalised and do not let them get acquainted with the outside world. The tribals are being indoctrinated and dictated by the Naxals into favouring them realising their satanic ambitions. Any development will be another setback to these rebels who are anyway losing their traction amongst gullible tribals.
