Opposition parties protest in Parliament over Rafale deal issue

New Delhi, Aug 10 (ANI): The Opposition parties staged a protest inside Parliament premises over Rafale deal issue on Friday. The protest was held at the helm of Congress which was joined by Communist Party of India (CPI) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MPs. On August 09, Congress demanded a probe by a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) into the Rafale deal. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government signed the deal with France-based Dassault Aviation to purchase 36 Rafale jets in 2016. The Congress has time and again cornered the Central government over the defence pact alleging irregularities in it. It has multiple times demanded the government to disclose the price of the jets. On August 07, the Congress also demanded the setting up of a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to probe the deal.
