New Delhi, Aug 22 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj handed over urns containing the ashes of most loved former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to state presidents of the party on Wednesday. The state presidents were instructed to take out processions in their respective states and immerse it in holy rivers. On August 19, ashes of the former prime minister were immersed in Ganga river at Har-ki-Pauri in Haridwar. Vajpayee, the 10th prime minister of India, breathed his last on August 16. He was cremated on 17 August with full state honour at Smriti Sthal in the national capital. The 93-year-old Ex-PM, whose ancestral home is in Agra’s Bateshwar, died at the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) following prolonged illness.
