New Delhi, Aug 26 (ANI): President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday wished the nation on the occasion Raksha Bandhan. The President, in his message, expressed the desire of strengthening the sense of brotherhood among people. “Greetings to all fellow citizens on Raksha Bandhan. May the spirit of this festival strengthen fraternal feelings and inspire us to live in a society defined by universal respect for the security and dignity of women, especially of girl children #PresidentKovind,” he tweeted. On the other hand PM Modi also joined in to greet nation on the occasion. Greetings on Raksha Bandhan”, he tweeted. Raksha Bandhan, which falls on August 26 this year, is about brothers taking a pledge to protect their sisters’ honour and respect owing to their relationship. The significance of this festival lies in celebrating the love of brothers and sisters for each other.
