New Delhi, Aug 27 (ANI): Former Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi headed an All India Congress Committee (AICC) current issues forum on the National Registrar of Citizens (NRC). Speaking on the issue, Gogoi said, “Registrar General of India accepted out modalities. This modality (NRC Assam) has been prepared accordingly but the implementation part is wrong. They didn’t implement it properly. Since the implementation was wrong huge number of people were left out in initial stages.” He further added that, “40 Lakh people and out of 40 Lakh vast majority are Indian citizens. The very purpose for which we took the initiative of NRC has failed.”
