Rajasthan to get Yamuna water during summers: CM Raje

New Delhi, August 29 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje expressed her happiness on signing of MoU between Rajasthan and 6 states including Uttarakhand, Utter Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi on proposed Lakhwar Multipurpose Inter-State Project on Yamuna River in upper Yamuna Basin. MoU was presided over by Union Minister of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Nitin Gadkari. With this agreement, water for drinking and irrigation purpose will be available in Rajasthan during summer season. CM Raje also congratulated Nitin Gadkari for this ambitious Rs. 4 thousand crore project of national importance. Now the people of Rajasthan will be able to get water for more months in the year and drinking water crisis can be solved. After construction of dam in Upper Yamuna area not only flood situation will be controlled but electricity can also be generated. The Chief Minister also hoped that on the line of Lakhwar project, agreement on Renukaji and Kishau projects will also take shape soon.
