Meerut (UP), Aug 11 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Women and Child Welfare Minister Rita Bahuguna Joshi arrived in Meerut to inspect women’s shelter home in Lal Kurti area in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh. Recently, several cases related to women shelter home have emerged in Uttar Pradesh. On August 5, the UP Police arrested a couple and rescued 24 girls from the shelter home in Deoria after an inmate escaped and informed the police about the alleged ill-treatment meted out to them. Police conducted a raid at a shelter home in Ghazipur on August 10 where three persons have been arrested after the shelter home was found to be running illegally. In Hardoi, the controversy over missing girls from a shelter home in Hardoi was later found to be a case of forgery where the owner of the shelter home showed more numbers of inmates inorder to get bigger grants from the government.
