Tea trade unions in Siliguri call for 3-day strike over minimum wage

Siliguri (West Bengal), Aug 08 (ANI): The joint forum of 26 tea trade unions called for a three-day strike demanding implementation of minimum wage from Tuesday onwards. The strike will be observed in Terai and Dooars regions of Siliguri in West Bengal. On the first day of the ongoing strike in the popular tea belt region, the state labour department has called a tripartite meeting and requested to withdraw the strike. The union, however, refused to withdraw their strike.
