Trout fish farming booms in Kashmir

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir), Aug 02 (ANI): The production of trout fish has seen an increase in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar due to favourable weather conditions and timely breeding. The fisheries department along with Laribal fish farm worked together to focus on generating fertilized fish eggs, known as fish seeds, for which the fish were provided good quality food and were exposed to favourable conditions. The number of hatchery houses was also increased in the farm to increase production. A total of 4,00,000 eggs have been produced by the farm this year and transported to other places in the state. This fish also contains proteins, Vitamins and forms the basis of healthy, low fat and fibre-rich diet.
