Udhampur (J&K), Aug 02 (ANI): Udhampur’s Motor Vehicle Department has launched a unique initiative under its mission ‘zero footfall in RT office’ which eases travel for applicants who visit the office for registration purpose. The office has started speed post service which would deliver driving license, registration certificate to the applicants at their doorsteps. Praising the initiative one of the locals said, “The step taken by the Motor Vehicles Department to deliver driving license and RC at doorstep is laudable. This has facilitated people as they would no longer require standing in queue. Visiting the office is a difficult task for working people so in this respect the decision is right.” Kuldeep Singh, Assistant Regional Transport Officer said, “Today in our office driving license, registration certificate, are being send through speed post. Our mission is to lessen the travel of people who were otherwise required to come here for RC many times. The mission of our department is ‘zero footfall in RT office’.”
