Chennai/Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Aug 28 (ANI): Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party workers and supporters took to streets to celebrate MK Stalin being instated as party president on Tuesday. The announcement came at a DMK general body meeting at party headquarters in Chennai. Other key announcements at the meeting were Durai Murugan being named as treasurer of DMK. The party also passed a resolution urging the Union Government to confer Bharat Ratna to five-time CM of Tamil Nadu and DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi. Workers and supporters celebrated the occasion outside the meeting venue after the announcement. Party workers also distributed sweets amongst people. M Karunanidhi’s memorial was also elaborately decorated on this occasion.
