Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Sep 20 (ANI): One youth died, while three others went missing after they drowned in Gomti river during Ganesha idol immersion on September 19. The incident took place when the youth had come to immerse idol of Lord Ganesha on the dhobi ghat at Gomti River. During the immersion, two of them drowned while the other two are feared drowned as they did not reach their homes. Harendra Kumar, Additional Superintendent of Police, Lucknow said, “During immersion of Lord Ganesh’s idol in Gomti, some children had drowned in the river. Body of one child was recovered by the diver, whereas body of another is missing. Two children have not reached their home and their families doubt whether any untoward incident had happened to them. Police and team of divers are searching for the missing bodies.” Rescue operations in the case are underway.
