Class X student allegedly gang-raped in Dehradun, accused remanded in 14-day judicial custody

Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Sep 19 (ANI): A student of class 10 was allegedly gang-raped last month in Uttarakhand’s Dehradun. Rekha Arya, Minister of State, Women and Child Development said, “Most unfortunate thing is that everyone from principal to a servant were found to be involved in the case. I immediately took action in the case after discussing with the SSP. I have asked the education department to cancel the NoCs of such institutions or hostels.” Ashok Kumar, Additional Director General (Law and Order), Uttarakhand, said, “Yesterday nine accused were produced in court. Among them, five were taken to chief court and four were taken to juvenile court. Six, including a student who is now an adult have been sent to jail and three were taken to juvenile court. The matter will be investigated. Six accused, including five staff members and one student (found adult) are sent to 14-day judicial custody and 3 minor students are sent to juvenile correctional home. The incident was known when the girl was found pregnant after regular complaints of stomach aches and sickness. After her medical examination, the girl told her story that she was raped by students of her own school.
