New Delhi, Sep 27 (ANI): National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Rekha Sharma on Thursday hailed the Supreme Court’s verdict Section 497 (adultery) and said, “We are finally thinking on lines of equality.” Speaking on the issue, Sharma said, “I am happy that this law is finished. The country has now started with a new way. There were any laws in which women had no equality but finally we are thinking on equal terms. In our constitution we were given equality but because of these laws that equality was left behind. Now these laws are being changed.” A five-judge bench of the Supreme Court today decriminalised adultery law.
