New Delhi, Sep 06 (ANI): United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and United States Secretary of Defence James Mattis arrived in India for first ever 2+2 Dialogue. Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held talks with their American counterparts as a part of the dialogue in New Delhi. In his opening statement at the meeting, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said, “We should continue to ensure freedom of the seas, skies, uphold the peaceful resolutions of the maritime disputes, and promote market based economics and good governance and prevent external economic coercion.” He further said, “Our two nations are united by shared values of democracy, respect for individual rights and a shared commitment to freedom. Given those values India and the United States have a natural starting point.”
