Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Sep 01 (ANI): Minister of Home Affairs Rajnath Singh on Saturday said that Postmen will now do job of bankers after the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) becomes functional. The Home Minister while addressing a gathering at the launch of IPPB said, “In 1969, when Indira Gandhi ji nationalized the banks, she too had this aim of making available banking facilities to every common people. But the reality is that even after the nationalization of banks, the branches of banks could reach only to towns or cities, but today it will reach further to even remote parts of India.” The new payments bank will leverage the vast network of India Post to make available basic banking facilities to those yet not availing the benefits of banking.
