Sikkim’s first ever airport in Pakyong stuns everyone

Gangtok (Sikkim), Sep 22 (ANI): To visit Sikkim, one has to take flight for West Bengal’s Bagdogra airport and then travel for 124 km uphill to reach Gangtok. But now, from September 24, people can directly take the flight to Gangtok as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to inaugurate the Pakyong Airport on September 24. The airport is situated at height of 4,500 feet. The airport has been built with a budget of more than Rs 600 crore. The amazing view of the airport has already created a buzz among people. According to a local, “With the opening of the airport, tourism sector will get boost in the state”.
