Mumbai, Oct 24 (ANI): Congress cornered Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government over the ongoing crisis in Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday. Posing a set of questions to the BJP government, spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said, “Why did PM remove the CBI director? What was the tearing hurry to remove him without the approval of selection committee? Why was the interim CBI chief appointed at 2 am in the night?” He further questioned, “Why were 12 other CBI officials given ‘saza-e-kala pani’? Is it correct that even the new CBI chief is under a cloud? Why is the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) acting as a captive puppet of Modi government? Why has Modi government trampled the constitution and the law making the mockery of CBI?”
