New Delhi/Mumbai/Hyderabad/Kolkata (West Bengal), Oct 06 (ANI): Prices of petrol and diesel witnessed a new hike even after the announcement of Central and some states government lowering the rates. Petrol price was hiked by 18 paise per litre whereas diesel was hiked by 29 paise per litre. Consumers seem unaffected by the price cut that the Centre and state governments made on the fuel. According to them, the government should resort to other ways for providing relief to consumers. In Delhi, petrol is being sold at Rs 81.68 per litre and diesel at Rs 73.24 per litre. Petrol prices in Mumbai have also witnessed a hike of 18 paise and petrol is being sold at Rs 87.15 per litre. However, the price of diesel in Mumbai has decreased by 70 paise and it is being retailed at Rs 76.75 per litre.
