Garbage piles up in parts of East Delhi as MCD workers continue to protest

New Delhi, Oct 05 (ANI): Garbage heaps have piled up in parts of East Delhi due to Municipal Corporation Development (MCD) workers’ ongoing strike. MCD workers’ strike started on September 12. “There are piles of garbage everywhere. Diseases are spreading. When we go to MCD officials, they say they are on strike as they are not getting their salaries,” said a resident. The sanitation workers are demanding regularisation of temporary workers and regular payments of salaries among others.
