J&K civic polls: BJP dominates with 43 seats in Municipal Corporation

Jammu (Jammu & Kashmir), Oct 20 (ANI): The Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission (J&K EC) concluded the municipal elections for the 1,145 wards on Saturday. The J&K EC announced the win for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Ramesh Kumar, District Election Officer, Jammu said, “In Jammu Municipal Board there are 75 wards and BJP won 43 seats, Indian National Congress (INC) won 14 seats & Independent candidates won 18 seats. In municipal committees there are seven wards of them BJP has won 2 seats, INC has won 4 seats and independent candidate won one seat.”
