Ladakh (J&K), Oct 29 (ANI): The popular two-day ‘Thiksey Gustor’ – the masked dance festival concluded in Ladakh. The festival witnessed thousands of spectators, including local residents, tourists, and devotees gather at Thiksey Gompa. The monks of the monastery dressed up in traditional costumes and performed a tantric mask dance believed to ward away evil spirits from the village. It is believed that devotees who attend the annual festival with great faith and devotion earn a meritorious life. The protective faces of the deities which otherwise remained covered the rest of the year are opened for public only during this festival.
