Latehar (Jharkhand), Oct 27 (ANI): Seldag Pagar village, predominantly a tribal region in Latehar district of Jharkhand, is severally underdeveloped due to the regular interference of Naxalites in any developmental projects in the area. Few years ago, a road was being laid in order to solve the commuting woes of the tribals but the work was never completed because of Naxal mayhem. They thrashed the contractors and their labour and even threatened them that until they were paid with the heavy amount of levy, no development work would continue. And if anyone dared to go against them, then he would be killed. After all these threats, the road construction has stopped due to which the tribals have to face a lot of problems. This road passing through the jungle is the residence of Naxalites. By hiding at such places only, they target the tribals. So, it’s clear that if the road is laid out, then it would destroy their hideout and make life easy for tribals. Thus, the agenda of these left radicals is essentially to keep the tribals marginalised and do not let them get acquainted with the outside world as any development will be another setback to these rebels who are anyway losing their traction amongst tribals.
