People throng at Mysore Palace to celebrate Vijayadashmi

Mysuru (Karnataka), Oct 19 (ANI): As the nine-day long Navratri festival come to an end, people across the country are observing Vijayadashami, the day of victory, with religious fervour. Vijayadashmi celebrations are underway at Mysore Palace in Karnataka. On the occasion, artists perform folk art at the Mysore palace. Thousands of people throng at the palace to witness the celebrations. Vijayadashami, is marked as the victory of Goddess Durga over the invincible demon Mahishasura. The occasion is also seen as the day when Lord Rama defeated Ravana and thus, festival is also known as Dussehra.
